If you are looking for a new Wi-Fi mesh system that can harness the power of Wi-Fi 6E technology, then TP-Link’s new flagship Deco XE200 should be on your shortlist. This Wi-Fi mesh system offers comprehensive coverage and faster Wi-Fi speeds, making eliminating dead Wi-Fi zones around the home easier.
The Deco XE200 is a tri-band Wi-Fi mesh system that uses the recently liberated 6GHz band and can achieve wireless speeds up to 10.8Gbps across 16 streams. In a press release issued today to mark the launch of the new flagship system, TP-Link says the Deco XE200 has a dynamic backhaul and can cover homes with areas up to 6,500 sq ft. The system can handle more than 200 client devices.
Because of the widespread adoption of Wi-Fi, the available wireless spectrum in many homes is under considerable pressure. Congestion can be bad in households with many family members or when there is high-density housing with many apartments close together, all vying for bandwidth. The competition for wireless bandwidth can often result in a drop in speeds. The wider bandwidth of the 6GHz band can result in faster data throughput when steaming high-definition videos and reducing latency for online gaming.
The new Deco XE200 mesh system has 16 high-gain antennas and 16 separate data streams, eight in the 5GHz band. Users benefit from greater bandwidth across multiple connected devices and this can result in faster speeds with less lag and fewer drops in connectivity.
Each Deco XE200 has a 10Gbps WAN/LAN port for 10G networking, plus a couple of Gigabit Ethernet ports. The 10Gbps LAN is ideal for home studios and offices where high speeds are needed or multiple users. TP-Link’s AI-Driven mesh technology uses algorithms and self-learning to provide a seamless blanket of Wi-Fi so users can roam around the home or office without interrupting their wireless signal.
By supporting multi-gigabit internet connections, the Deco XE200 speeds up handling video archives and larger media files. It enables files to be streamed efficiently from any authorized device on the network. This higher-speed Ethernet port should save time when backing up computers or sharing files. To get the full speed from 10Gbps Ethernet, you may need to rewire your network to a higher specification cable.
The Deco XE200 supports WPA3 encryption and TP-Link’s HomeShield , which enables the management of users’ time online and blocking unwanted content using the Parental Controls built into the Deco application. The Deco XE200 functions as a conventional Wi-Fi router and an IoT hub, enabling smart home devices to be connected and managed with the Deco app.
Quality of Service (QoS) and Network Protection are also included in the system to keep a home or office network running smoothly. The app can create reports for checking network statistics and offers insights to help the network run more efficiently.
Pricing & Availability: The Deco XE200 twin pack is available now and has an RRP of $799/£799/€799.
