Looking for Monday’s Connections hints and answers? You can find them here:
Hi, friends! It’s Tuesday, which means there’s another round of Connections for us all to mull over. I usually complete each day’s puzzle before writing this preamble, so for now I’ll simply say I was pleased with how things went for me. Today’s Connections hints and answers are coming right up.
How To Play Connections
In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like horror movie franchises, a type of verb or rappers.
There’s only one solution for each puzzle, and you’ll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them.
Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is typically the hardest one to deduce. The purple group often involves wordplay, so bear that in mind.
Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you’re incorrect, you’ll lose a life. If you’re close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you’re one word away from getting it right, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to swap.
If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with the help of some hints, and, if you’re really struggling, today’s Connections answers.

My second perfect game in a row brings me to a three-day winning streak. I’m aiming for a Ken Jennings-level streak this time around.
I’ll let you into a little secret regarding my strategy for solving Connections puzzles: there isn’t one. I prefer a chaotic approach to a more measured one, letting my eyes dance across the grid until I start seeing links. Writing out the list of words first helps, though.
Anyway, I saw the blue group first today. I felt that those words gelled together without any red herrings to trip me up, so I got those in the bank right away.
The green group was next. I think of NICHE as referring to a specialization in a field or subject and don’t typically consider its meaning in this sense. I wasn’t sure if it would fit with the other words, so I took a small gamble and it paid off.
That left me with the yellow words (which were immediately apparent at this point) and the purple words. I didn’t make the connection between the toughest group today, but found it to be a fun category in the end. Apologies if my clue for that one was a little unclear, but it’s a difficult one to riff on without giving it away too easily.
That’s all there is to it for today’s Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog for hints and the solution for Wednesday’s game if you need them.
